I realized today that I only have 45 days left until my first race of 2014 and with my little hiatus from any type of real running, there’s not much of a chance for me to just ‘wing’ this one. So, with that in mind I decided it was time to do a speed workout today.
1 mile warm up
4 x .5 mile intervals with 1 recovery lap between each
3:56, 3:52, 3:48, 3:57
1 mile cool down
Sarah Fit 10 minute core workout.
It came out to about 5 miles. Looking at my half mile intervals, I certainly have some work to do.
After the gym I picked up some Chinese takeout for Aleck and I. I mostly did it because I have been craving rice and A1 sauce lately and this was an easy way to get some rice hand delivered to me Don’t knock it ’til you try it! My brother got me hooked on this combo when I was in like the 5th grade.
I received this fortune in my cookie. It could not be more true! One of my BEST FRIENDS from high school gets here this Thursday for a weekend visit!! I am so so so so excited! This will be my first visit from a friend from back home.

I was taking a little break from work today at the local Rite Aid (these stores are wonderful) and I spent some time in the Valentine’s aisle. This is where they keep the good candy. I stared at this Valentine for at least 10 minutes because I did not understand it. Seriously, when I finally figured it out I was embarrassed that I knew me.
I was reading it as “I’m slow. Glad you’re my Valentine!” It made no sense to me, and I was initially appalled by this little turtle.
I’m hoping to make it to a 6:15am Hot Yoga class tomorrow morning, so I’m off to shower and watch some Dexter before bed. It’s 7:45pm, soo I’m feeling pretty young right now.
