Happy Friday! I really need to step up my blogging game lately, I am just always so exhausted outside of work, running and feeding myself. I’ll work on it! My running this week has looked like this:
Monday – 4 miles outside
Tuesday – 4 miles outside / 3 miles outside after work
– I ran a 5:55 mile on my lunch run, I have no idea where it came from! But it felt awesome!
Wednesday – 5 miles I ran up to the Olympic Park, I haven’t done that in forever!
Thursday – Rest Day. I didn’t plan on it, but I feel like I pulled something in my quad from my hill run on Wednesday and I didn’t want to push it 2 weeks before race day
Today – snowboarding this morning, planning on 5 miles this evening

Just a few more random photos, because it’s Friday and I’m anxiously waiting to go snowboard in the FOOT of snow we got last night. My leggings finally came! Wahooo!
It’s safe to say I get pretty hungry when I’m at work. I have this irrational fear of being hungry when I’m there and having nothing to do about it. Talk about a scary day.
I recently started reading up on the health/fitness benefits of snowboarding. I mainly started doing this because I am trying to convince myself that I am going to be just fine in up coming race, despite my lack of miles run this year. I did find some good news! (or at least news that will calm my nerves a little bit going into it).
A few of the main benefits were (that link to running):
- Strengthens your legs – calves, hamstrings and quads
- Is a really good core workout
- Increases endurance
- If you are riding hard, it is considered an intense cardio workout
- Releases endorphins to help keep you happy the way running does
- Increases your flexibility – helps stretch muscles that may otherwise be tight from the same repeated running motions

I am going to leave you with the BEST part of my week. Have you heard of something call Bug a Salt? It’s a gun that shoots table salt to kill flies (or really any other bug). Someone at work told me about it and next thing I knew I was receiving an order confirmation from them. It’s going to be so great. Outside of killing bugs, I plan to use it to salt my food, save people whose cars are stuck in the snow. I’ve even considered using it in my race to MAKE SURE I get 1st place. <— I’m kidding I promise.
I obviously had to get the special edition version. It came with Mr. Pinch – the bottle opener! If someone were to ask me what my favorite thing about myself was – I would absolutely say it’s the fact that I will still get excited about purchasing a Bug a Salt and being genuinely excited about the fun that is sure to follow. So. Excited.
